Black Horse clinched the title in a close fought contest that went all the way to the last game. The first two games went to the Horse before an intervention by the mayor of Newhaven appeared to swing the match in favour of the home side when Phil won a rescheduled game 5 on the final ball. Kevin levelled the match with the highest score of the night, but captain Dave Todd sealed the match and the championship with a win over Alan.
