Darren opened with a nice 2.5k break leaving Fred down and out with all the teams bad luck in one game, both struggled with the small pockets but Darren kept ahead all the way.
Sandy opened similarly and increased his lead on Jan end up 4k ahead, a recovery was on the cards for Jan but she ran out of time,
The key game of the night game 5 was played 3rd due to a late arrival, Rick missed his opening break leaving Nigel to post a decent response and stayed 2k ahead of Ric for most of the game, There were plenty of chances but Ric was unable to take them or recover the break but was always in the running until the bar quenched his chances.
Chris played a perfect opening break of 7k followed by a tuck, and looked like his first lewes 10k was on the cards, Richard struggled to make inroads and Chris recovered the break and broke down on 2k with time to make it, he was 100 short at the bar but failed to achieve this milestone following 2 misses on the 100 but nevertheless a great performance.
Dave was off early in the last game of the night, but with the match secured there was no pressure on Colin and a brace of 2k and 3k breaks took the final game easily.
A nice chilli and rice from Dave rounded off a great night for the home team. Thanks to the Table levellers who helped to make the break a bit easier, but still a few minor problems at the bottom regs cs [Colin Southouse]
