Everyone found ways to come off tonight so the result could have been 5-0 to the visitors, Matt (monkey spirit) Knight could have played with his eyes closed and the balls would still have gone in somewhere, he lost almost as many points as he scored and looked good on the table.. mostly and gave his opponent little table time to catch up but poor old Mike (mucky spirit) Daw kept his scores to a bare minimum, Handing Matt an easy victory.Colin came off too early again gifting Nige an easy opening but both failed to capitalise on their chances regularly, a nice 3k from Nige towards the end and Colin ran out of time with his valiant chase. Jack opened steadily opening up a 1.5k lead, Chris spent the first 10 mins playing anti-bar billiards but came good at the right time give the home team plenty to worry about on the way.Sandy and Lana struggled all through their game with plenty of low scoring breaks, again Lana was ahead for the 1st Half and Sandy took over in the 2nd half but Lana came back to take a small lead and was ahead at the bar but soon came off leaving sandy 150 behind with three balls left and 90 behind with the 100 shot needed to win which Sandy took at the 3rd attempt. Phil and the Sudbury Mauler also spent the 1st half close together with the outcome unsure until a brace of 2ksfrom phil took the game and the honours for the Glynde Club. A close fought match and very enjoyable evening with the Hikers [Colin Southouse]
